Liposuction in Carrollton, West Georgia

Liposuction is performed to sculpt an area of the body where an accumulation of fat deposits has not responded to diet and exercise. Specific areas include the Abdomen, Hips, Thighs, Arms, Calves, and Neck. Liposuction can be performed in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures to give the patient the optimal body contour they desire.

1. Indications for Liposuction

a. To improve the overall contour of a specific area.
b. To improve the physical appearance of an individual who, despite diet and exercise, cannot eliminate a specific area of fat. (ex: “Saddlebags”)

2. Procedure Summary

a. Liposuction is performed under general anesthesia or deep sedation (for small areas) as an outpatient in the Plastic Surgery Center of West Georgia Ambulatory Surgery Center.
b. Every precaution is taken to ensure patient safety.

3. Recovery

a. The patient is placed in a compression wrap that will stay in place until the next day post-operative visit.
b. Patient is given several levels of pain medications for proper and effective pain control. Most patients complain of soreness rather than severe pain.
c. Light activities may be resumed within a week. In two to three weeks, patient may slowly resume normal activities and be unrestricted at three weeks.
d. Sutures or tapes are removed in a week to ten days.

4. Administrative

a. Liposuction is considered a cosmetic procedure and is not covered by insurance.
